“ De Vette Mossel is a very unique experience that will have you tasting every West Coast dish you can imagine. You are welcomed into quite a rustic looking area that feels remarkably like a west coast beach. Staff are friendly and explain the 6 course meal to you and you take a seat as you wait for the feast to begin. Fresh warm pot bread is served first with fresh butter and shortly after a bunch of different fish, seafood potjies, oxtail potjies and other delicious foods are served one by one. I also ordered the prawns as I saw that it's a must try. The prawns are out of this world, even though I was warned before that they are not deveined, which is a bit of a pity but I suspect it enables the unbroken prawn shells to be extra juice and contains the flavour. Beware though, this literally serves a table of 6 to 8 people and will be hard to finish it all. Incredibly juicy and buttery. The kids had great fun in the play area and some even had a swim. A fun, tasty experience that whisks you away to the west coast. A must try in my opinion. But you will be fished out afterwards ”

“ Had a birthday lunch with friends and utterly enjoyed it. Food was yummy and fresh, mostly self help buffet. Variety of beverages, we had a Strawberry Daiquiri and it was top notch and delicious. Clean toilets, swimming pool, play area for kids. Loved the beach vibe atmosphere, reminded me of being on holiday for sure. Good value for money, even the big eaters will go home with an overfull stomach. Pensioners and kids discount, drinks not too pricey either. Doggy friendly. Definitely worth a second visit. ”

“ A unique experience. This is not a place where you just go for a quick meal. You make a day of it, spend hours and enjoy every moment. The menu is fixed, everyone eats the same food. Thus if you have dietary restrictions this is not for you. If you are happy to eat good food and do jot requore special diets, and are looking for a unique experience this is for you. Food is cooked outside over fires, there is a pool, interesting decor, games are olayed and there is a pool and play area for kids. ”

“ Been multiple times. Currently u der new management. Still excellent quality and taste. Vibe is excellent. Service is impeccable with personal attention to details from host and hostess. Well done on that and keep it up as it will bring lots more clientele. Started mussels are crazy good. Huge portion. Fresh and flavourful. Very enjoyable. Following courses were well timed subsequently and the wait in-between was very acceptable. Main course seafood and meat options very good. Quality excellent. Extra options like lobster and crayfish available on demand. Obviously pricey, but as they are optional extras, it's a lovely choice to have. Bar is also well taken care of with limited but quality options avaliable. Overall would go again and would advise patronage if in Parys. ”

“ Exceptional value for money on the dishes. First plate send out to you, you eat till you full. Help yourself to 2nd and 3rd helpings...etc. The best "potbrood" in the southern hemisphere. Mussel dish tastes as if the ocean is just adjacent to your table...fresh and flavourful. The snoek could do with a bit more spice but the soet patats are out of this world. The meat potjie, savoury rice, seafood potjie, fresh salad and seasonal veggies was a main meal to write an S.A on. To end the day with good "Moerkoffie" and "koeksister" was the star of the show. ”

“ What a wonderful experience. There is a set menu which is incredible and loads of food. The homemade potjie bread, farm butter and mussels was my favorite and I ate way too much of it. So many courses followed and all were outstanding. You quickly make friends with other patrons, lovely vibe. You can bring your own cooler box for R100 or buy drinks at the bar, not expensive. Loads of parking. There is a bit of dirt road but the Toyota Corolla made it with ease. ”
